Calculate a Discount and Split the Bill
For an equal split of a group reservation, calculate the discounted payment first. Use this fictional example to avoid entering the original amount into the bill splitter. Keep the currency and included charges consistent yourself.
Take 20% off 10000
- In Discount Calculator, enter an original price of
10000and a discount rate of20. - The discount is 2000 and the payment is 8000. Transfer the payment, 8000, to the next tool.
- In Split Bill Calculator, enter a total of
8000,4people and a tip rate of0. - The amount per person is 2000. Check that four payments add back up to 8000.
Recheck the total if a tip applies
A 10% tip on 8000 is 800, giving a total of 8800 and 2200 per person for four people. Enter a tip only when it applies. The tool does not look up tax or service charges, or decide which items qualify for a discount.
Decide rounding and unequal contributions separately
Splitting 8000 among three people produces a recurring decimal. Collecting only rounded displayed amounts may not reproduce the total. Choose the actual payment unit, decide who covers the remainder and check the amount collected. This is an equal split; it does not allocate different usage or reimburse different amounts advanced by group members.
Check the bill’s terms
Confirm whether the discount applies to all or part of the bill, whether tax is included and whether other charges apply. The result calculates the numbers you enter; it does not verify the bill itself.
