About this tool

See the final price and savings at the same time. The tool does not force a currency symbol, so the result stays in the same currency as your input.

Taxes, shipping, and coupon order vary by store. This calculator applies only the discount percentage to the original price you enter.

A 25% discount on 12,000 removes 3,000

Enter an original price of 12,000 and a discount rate of 25. The discount is 3,000 and the amount to pay is 9,000, which you can verify as original price minus discount.

Try a use case and check the result

Check the amount to pay separately from the amount saved.

Example buttons replace the inputs and settings above and calculate. Restore previous input returns to the state before the latest example.

After trying multiple examples, repeat Restore previous input to return to your original input. History is kept only in this page; restore any input you need before closing it.

Check the 100% discount boundary

Input and settings

Original price: 1234 / Discount: 100%

Expected result

Pay: 0
Save: 1,234

How to read the result

The large number is the price after discount. Savings appear separately. At 100% off, payment is zero and the full original price is saved.

Scope and limits

Price must be non-negative and discount must be 0–100%. Currency conversion, tax, shipping and successive discounts are not calculated. Money is displayed with at most two decimal places; a shop’s rounding or tax order may differ.

Verification: existing calculateDiscount checks cover payment, savings, the 100% boundary and rejection above 100%, compared with the rendered amounts. Prices are illustrative.

Continue with the next task

Apply two discounts in sequence

20% off 10,000 is 8,000; another 10% off 8,000 gives 7,200.

Each discount applies to the original price entered for that calculation.

The tool handles one discount at a time. Adding 20% and 10% to make 30% gives a different result from successive discounts.

Frequently asked questions

Can it calculate a 100% discount?

Yes. A 100% discount produces a final price of zero.

Can I enter a tax-inclusive price?

Yes. The discount is applied to the number you enter; tax treatment is not detected automatically.

Does it convert currencies?

No. It keeps the monetary unit you use and does not fetch exchange rates.
