Extract text from two pages in order
Input and settings
A synthetic PDF with ALPHA 1 on page 1 and BETA 2 on page 2.
Expected result
Text on 2/2 pages. Page headings precede ALPHA 1 and then BETA 2. The TXT is UTF-8.
Extract embedded PDF text in page order, then copy it or save a UTF-8 TXT file. This tool does not perform OCR on image-only PDFs.

PDF input: at most 40 MB and 100 pages. Text limits: 100,000 items, 2,000,000 UTF-16 units and 5 MB saved TXT. Password-protected PDFs are unsupported.
The preview shows at most 100,000 UTF-16 units. Copy and TXT save include the complete result.
Compare extraction from embedded text with an image-only PDF.
Example buttons replace the inputs and settings above and calculate. Restore previous input steps back one example at a time. After trying multiple examples, repeat restore to return to your original input. This history is lost when the page closes.
A synthetic PDF with ALPHA 1 on page 1 and BETA 2 on page 2.

Two pages with images and colored fills, but no text objects.
A no-embedded-text message; empty text field and disabled copy/save controls. No OCR is performed.
Text is grouped by page, but column order, tables, spaces and line breaks depend on the PDF structure. Extracted text does not reproduce the visual layout.
One PDF up to 40,000,000 bytes and 100 pages; 100,000 text items, 2,000,000 UTF-16 units and 5,000,000 TXT bytes. Preview shows at most 100,000 UTF-16 units; copy/save include the full result. No OCR or password-protected PDFs.
Validate the known strings in order, the saved TXT, and disabled saving for a PDF without text.
Choose one PDF and extract its text. Text follows the original page order with a separator for each page. Copy or save TXT to get the complete result. The original PDF is unchanged.
Only embedded text is extracted. Scans, rasterized text and letters drawn as shapes cannot be read. If there is no embedded text, a message appears and saving remains disabled. No OCR is performed.
Within each page, text uses the item order returned by PDF.js and line-end markers for newlines. Spaces are added between adjacent items when needed. Unicode text, including Japanese, is supported, but missing or incorrect PDF character mappings can produce incorrect text.
Reading order, layout and formatting are not guaranteed for columns, tables or vertical text. Spaces and newlines may differ from the visible PDF. Compare the extracted result with the original document.
TXT output uses UTF-8 without a BOM. The preview is limited to the first 100,000 UTF-16 units, while copy and save include the complete bounded result. Many emoji use two UTF-16 units.
File size, pages, item count, text length and output bytes are checked incrementally. Exceeding a limit discards the whole result; partial text cannot be saved as a successful extraction. Complex PDFs may fail within these bounds.
Selecting a PDF clears previous output. Cancel retains the PDF; reset clears the PDF and result. Active documents and text streams are closed, and delayed results are discarded. Initial loading may need to finish before cleanup.
Processing stays in your browser. PDF data, extracted text and filenames are neither stored nor sent. Password-protected and damaged PDFs are unsupported.
Image-only PDFs are unsupported. This tool extracts embedded text and does not perform OCR.
Unicode text can be extracted. PDF character mappings and layout can affect characters, spacing and reading order.
No. The preview is limited to 100,000 UTF-16 units, but copy and save include the complete bounded result. PDFs that exceed processing limits cannot be saved.
Share only the tool name and public URL. Your input and results are not included.
Keep any content you need before clearing. This tool does not autosave inputs or results. Reloading or closing the page, clearing inputs or resetting may discard your work.
Favorites and language preferences are stored separately and may be lost when site data is cleared. Tool resets and site-data deletion do not delete files already downloaded to your device.
