About this tool
View basic file details and available EXIF fields. A prominent warning appears when GPS coordinates are present.
Images are processed locally and are not stored or uploaded. Choosing “Open in Google Maps” sends only the displayed coordinates to Google.
Try a use case and check the result
Distinguish pixel dimensions from the metadata fields this viewer reports.
Example buttons replace the inputs and settings above and calculate. Restore previous input steps back one example at a time. After trying multiple examples, repeat restore to return to your original input. This history is lost when the page closes.
A PNG comment need not appear in this field list
Input and settings
A 4×2 px PNG with a synthetic tEXt comment, SYNTHETIC OWNER, and no GPS.
Expected result
Width 4 px, height 2 px, image/png, filename and size. No camera/GPS fields. An absent comment in this list does not prove it was removed from the file.
Transparent pixels still have dimensions
Input and settings
A fully transparent 2×4 px PNG without EXIF or GPS.
Expected result
Width 2 px, height 4 px, image/png and a no-GPS-found message. An empty appearance does not mean zero dimensions.
How to read the result
The list is a subset of dimensions and supported EXIF fields. Missing values do not distinguish absent from unsupported data. No GPS found is not an anonymity guarantee. When a map link exists, coordinates are sent externally only if you open it.
Scope and limits
One JPEG/PNG/WebP up to 20,000,000 bytes. Dimensions use orientation-aware headers; this is not a full-image preview. It does not enumerate or remove all metadata or exhaustively detect location data. Examples use synthetic PNGs and do not open external maps.
Check 4×2 and 2×4 dimensions with an independent PNG decoder and distinguish a real source comment from the viewer’s limited field list.
Missing GPS does not mean all metadata has been removed
Filename, size and dimensions can be checked even when capture time or camera fields are blank. A missing field means the tool did not retrieve it.
This page inspects metadata; it does not remove EXIF or location information. To remove metadata before sharing, use Image Metadata Remover and inspect the saved output again.
Frequently asked questions
Can it open GPS data on a map?

Why are some fields missing?
The image may have been exported without EXIF metadata.
