For km/L, a 300 km trip at 15 km/L uses about 20 litres. The tool multiplies that fuel amount by the price per litre. L/100 km uses the same kilometre-and-litre system.
Selecting US MPG changes the inputs to miles and price per US gallon. It does not mix miles with Imperial gallons or convert currencies.

How to read the result
20 km/L and 5 L/100 km represent the same efficiency here, so both volume and cost agree. A larger km/L value uses less fuel; a smaller L/100 km value uses less. Example buttons set the unit mode before entering numbers.
Scope and limits
Manually changing mode clears existing numbers; it does not convert them. US mpg uses miles, US miles per gallon and price per US gallon, not imperial gallons. Efficiency must be positive; distance and price non-negative. Traffic, load, price changes and tolls are excluded. Sample prices are illustrative, not current prices.
