About this tool
Set a countdown of up to seven days and receive an on-screen message when it finishes. Remaining time is derived from timestamps and corrects itself after background throttling.
A sleeping device may delay the visible notice. Use your device's alarm as a backup for critical reminders.

How to read the result
Examples prepare a stopped countdown. Pause retains the remaining time; Resume continues subtracting from it. Editing fields while running does not change the active countdown.
Scope and limits
Pause before applying or restoring examples; running measurements are protected. Restore retains remaining time, settings, sound choice and completion notice. Closing the page loses the timer. Background display/notification may be delayed; sound depends on browser support and user interaction. Use a backup for critical deadlines.
Independent durations: 90,000 and 3,723,000 ms. Controlled-clock tests check that a pause adds no elapsed time and only resumed time is subtracted; browser checks restore after multiple examples.

Pause a five-minute countdown
Starting at five minutes and pausing after two minutes leaves three minutes.
Pause retains the remaining duration; resume subtracts elapsed time from that remainder.
Editing inputs while running does not change the current countdown. Set the new duration while stopped or reset to apply it.
Frequently asked questions
Does it continue in another tab?
Yes. Remaining time is corrected from timestamps when you return.
Does it play a sound?
A sound plays only after you enable it and press Start. The on-screen notice remains available if browser or device settings block audio.
Is timer state saved?
No. The timer state is not stored.
