Pick red at the top left
Input and settings
Synthetic 2×1 PNG / Red left, blue right / X=0, Y=0
Expected result
#FF0000 / rgb(255, 0, 0) / hsl(0, 100%, 50%)
Pick colors from an image and copy HEX, RGB, HSL, or a palette of CSS variables.

Colors use the browser’s sRGB rendering, not calibrated print proofing. The palette is an approximation sampled from a reduced image.
Images are capped at 134.2 MB and 128 megapixels. Processing uses resized previews or sequential jobs where appropriate. Original-pixel color sampling also checks a decode-memory estimate and reports when it cannot proceed.
A solid red image returns #FF0000 wherever you sample it, and red dominates the palette. On a red-to-blue gradient, the sampled value changes with position while the palette groups representative colors from the whole image.
Check image coordinates against two known red/blue pixels.
Example buttons replace the inputs and settings above and calculate. Restore previous input steps back one example at a time. After trying multiple examples, repeat restore to return to your original input. This history is lost when the page closes.
Synthetic 2×1 PNG / Red left, blue right / X=0, Y=0
#FF0000 / rgb(255, 0, 0) / hsl(0, 100%, 50%)
Same 2×1 PNG / X=1, Y=0. Coordinates start at zero.
#0000FF / rgb(0, 0, 255) / hsl(240, 100%, 50%)
Coordinates refer to the original image, with (0,0) at the top left, independently of preview zoom. HEX/RGB/HSL describe browser-decoded RGB, not alpha or raw ICC values. Recent picks and the dominant palette are separate lists.
One JPEG/PNG/WebP, up to 128 MiB, 128 megapixels and 32,768 px per edge; memory constraints may require smaller files. Color management/transparency decoding can change values. Restore includes the original file, coordinate inputs, actual pick, recent colors and palette; run again for output.
Independently check red/blue HEX, RGB and HSL from known RGBA. Verify original file bytes, unsubmitted coordinate edits, pick history and palette restoration.

Values follow the browser’s sRGB rendering and do not guarantee calibrated print proofing. The representative palette is sampled from a reduced image.
