The preview may be scaled down to fit the page, but the crop summary reports the approximate pixel dimensions taken from the original image. The saved file uses that crop area rather than the smaller on-screen preview size.
Drag with a pointer to redraw or move the crop. After choosing a fixed ratio, arrow keys move the selected area by one preview pixel, or ten while holding Shift.
About this tool
Drag across the preview for a free crop. Choosing a preset creates the largest centered crop at that ratio, which you can reposition by dragging.
Processing stays in your browser. Images are not stored or uploaded, metadata is not carried into the output, and transparent pixels become white in JPEG files.
Frequently asked questions
Is the original image changed?
No. The crop is saved as a new file.
Is location metadata retained?
No. Canvas export does not copy EXIF or GPS metadata.
Can I use very large images?
Files are limited to 20 MB and 40 megapixels.
