Skipping a blank line also changes the next number
Use a start number of 10 and the separator “. ” with alpha, a blank line, and beta. With Skip blank lines enabled, the output is 10. alpha, a blank line, and 11. beta. Disable it and the blank line receives 11., making beta number 12.
- Numbers are inserted as text at the start of each line. Check both line count and blank lines before pasting the output back into a spreadsheet.
- Number removal recognizes common numeric prefixes, so review data whose real content already begins with a number.

Can blank lines stay unnumbered?
Yes. Enable “Skip blank lines” to leave them unchanged.

No. Processing and draft storage take place only in your browser.
