Button CSS Starter
Set colors, padding, and corner radius, then copy starter HTML and CSS for a button.
How to use
- Choose a label and colors, then adjust padding and radius. Check color contrast separately.
- Paste only the button element into the HTML. Paste the CSS beginning with .rk-button into your stylesheet.
- Implement the click behavior and verify that the focus outline is visible when using the Tab key.
When to use this tool
Prepare a web button’s label, colors, corner radius, and horizontal padding. The output contains an HTML element and CSS rules; add behavior only after deciding how the button should look.

border-radius: 8px;
padding: 12px 24px;
min-height: 44px;
max-width: 100%;
overflow-wrap: anywhere;
font: inherit;
cursor: pointer;
}
.rk-button:focus-visible { outline: 3px solid #236b65; outline-offset: 3px; }HTML appears before the blank line and CSS after it. Pasting the entire result into the HTML body would display the CSS as text. The type="button" element does not submit a form automatically; the generated sample has no submission or navigation behavior.
Scope and limitations
Includes a native button and a focus outline. Add the click behavior in your application.
Next step and alternatives
Shadow CSS Builder — Adjust a shadow separately for the button or its surrounding card.
Frequently asked questions
Can label text break the HTML?
HTML characters in the label are escaped so they are output as text rather than executable markup.
Does the tool approve the chosen colors?
No. Check text-to-background contrast and the visibility of the focus outline against the surrounding page.
Does the generated button submit a form or navigate?
The output is an HTML/CSS sample using type=button. Submission and navigation behavior must be implemented in the destination application.
