Text Progress Bar
Create a copyable text progress bar from completed and total counts.
How to use
- Enter completed and total counts in the same unit, with a total of at least one.
- Choose a bar width that fits the destination field.
- Create the result and copy both the bar and numeric label.
When to use this tool
Create a text progress bar for a status report or chat message. The output retains completed and total counts, so the visual bar is accompanied by an explicit numeric status.

Result
Example input and actual output
- Completed: 3
- Total: 10
- Bar width: 10
[███░░░░░░░] 30% (3/10)
At 3/10, the result is 30% with three of ten cells filled. A three-cell bar rounds to one filled cell, visually about 33%, while the numeric label stays 30%. Non-monospace fonts may not align the cells.
Scope and limitations
Filled cells are rounded to the nearest integer, so the bar may differ slightly from the displayed percentage.

Frequently asked questions
Can completed exceed total?
No. Completed must lie between zero and total. Use the percentage calculator for ratios above 100%.
Will a copied bar update automatically?
No. Recreate the result after changing the counts and replace the copied status.
Can the bar look different from the numeric percentage?
Filled cells are rounded. At 30% with a three-cell bar, one cell is filled while the numeric label remains 30%.
