What browser-local processing means: input, storage and network traffic

Written and checked by Rakuruno · Updated September 4, 2026

Browser-local processing means that Rakuruno runs a tool’s calculation or conversion in your device’s browser. It does not mean the site needs no network connection, that nothing is retained on the device, or that all devices have the same processing capacity.

Three separate activities

  • Input and results: text conversion and processing of selected images and PDFs happen in the page. The tools do not upload these inputs to Rakuruno.
  • Device storage: tools that support autosave use localStorage. Data older than 30 days from the last save is expired and removed when it is next checked, such as on a subsequent read. A closed browser does not keep running to delete it at an exact time.
  • Page traffic: the browser retrieves HTML, CSS, JavaScript and other assets. On the production host, Google Analytics receives page information and allowlisted interaction events. Tool input and filenames are not included as event values by design.

Observe a draft using fictional text

Enter “Sample review note” in Text Cleaner, wait for the saved status, then reload to see the draft restored. Clearing the visible input and deleting a saved draft are different operations, so inspect both the screen and the save status. On a shared computer, reload after cleanup to check that unwanted text does not return.

Not every tool saves the same information

Image to PDF saves settings, not selected images as drafts. QR Code Generator does not persist Wi-Fi passwords and removes password fields from legacy saved data on loading. However, a downloaded Wi-Fi QR image still contains the supplied connection details; storing or distributing that image requires separate care.

Sharing refers to the tool, not your work

On supported tools, the post-result Share control passes only a fixed tool title and canonical URL to the system share sheet. Copy link copies that canonical URL only. Input text, files, results and extra URL parameters are excluded. You choose the destination in the operating system or browser’s sharing interface.

Your device is a separate boundary

Browser extensions, shared accounts, device-management software and downloaded files are outside this website’s processing boundary. Follow your organization’s rules and confirm permission before handling sensitive information. Read the Privacy Policy for details on measurement and data handling, or use Contact to report a problem. Do not attach real confidential text or files to a report.
